Hair Care 101 - Longer Hair, Healthier Hair, Shorter Time :D

So there are some crazy  products out there that promise you crazy hair growth in an unbelievable about of time. Truth is, 95% of those products either don't work or work only for a while. The safest way to grow your hair faster and longer is naturally. Here are some tips:
1. Scalp Massage
I know it sounds a little wired but it works. What it does is that it simulates the hair letting the hair grow. A good time to do this is in the shower while shampooing or with an oil treatment.  Do a Scalp Massage daily for best results.
2. Use a Clarifying Shampoo
By removing residue from styling products and even shampoo from your scalp, will let the hair grow. If the hair follicles are clogged, the hair will not grow.
3. Moister
Keeping your hair well moisturized is key for long healthy hair. If your hair is dry, it is more likely to snap and break.
4. Healthy Lifestyle
What you eat affects everything in your body, including your hair. If you stuff your face with junk food, your hair will be dull and lifeless. If you have a healthy lifestyle, your hair will grow faster and healthier. Types of food that make your hair grow will be in another post, Ill make sure to include everything.
5. Treatments
Doing hair treatments is always a great idea. It helps moisturize you hair and give it the nutrients it needs (depending on the hair treatment). I will also be going into more detail in another post.

Hair Care 101 - Grooming

You always wanna have your looking presentable, especially when you go out but, there are things you should know about taming your mane. You know how people say you should brush your hair like 100 times before you go to bed? Well no, you really shouldnt. Actuallly, brushed brake your hair more than you thing. If you absolutly must use a brush, I suggest using a wooden one like Hairbrush With Bamboo Pins from The Body Shop to minimize breakage. You should never ever brush your hair when its wet. I breaks your hair so much, you have no idea. Instead, softly uses a wide tooth comb. They are not expensive and you can find them anywhere. When your hairs wet it is super fragile and can break easily. If your hair doesn't get too tangled, wait until your hairs damp to start combing it. If your gets tangled easily, try a detangler. It will give your hair a break from all the pulling and tugging. I have never used one, if you have, leave a comment below if you have any suggestions. Hope this helped a lot of you, if you have anything to add, feel free to leave it as a comment. :)

Hair Care 101: Leave the Heat

Are you one of those girls who cant live without their blow dryer, flat iron, and curling iron?  I used to be, until i noticed the damage it was doing on my hair. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it at all, once or twice a week is ok but using everyday could really kill your hair. I recommend investing in a good flat iron like the KQC Flat Iron or the Chi Flat Iron. They are both a little pricey but it will pay of. You should also get a good blow dryer like the Velecta Paramount Professional Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer and a good curling iron like the Hot Tools Professional Spring Curling Iron. Buying these good quality tools will give you the best results with the minimum amount of damage. Trust me, getting the $20 flat iron at Wallgreens is not gonna pay off. Also, get a heat protectant. I use Beyond the Zone Turn Up the Heat Protection Spray. I like it and it smells amazing. If your just using the blow dryer and don't want to go all out, i recommend using Argan Oil. It is amazing for your hair. If your hair really damaged right now, get your split ends cut off and stop using heat for as long as you can. Trust me, your hair will look and feel so much healthier.

Hair 101 - Cleansing

You've heard in thousands of times, DON'T wash your hair everyday! The natural oils in your hair are super important to keep your hair healthy. Bu washing you're hair everyday, your stripping the oils out of your hair, causing dry, dull hair. Later, it causes oily hair because your hair trys to replenish the oils. My tip is, wash your hair every other day, at the most. The longer you go without washing your hair the better. I'm not telling you never to wash your hair, I'm telling you to wash it less often. You can use dry shampoo in between washes, if you don't have, baby powder or foot powder are goo alternatives. Also, buy shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate free. Sulfate strips your hair from the natural oils. Sulfate is put into shampoos because many people thing the more it lathers, the better it cleans. That is not true, sulfate just drys out your hair. Sometimes, even shampoos without  sulfate can be harsh, especially on colored hair, what I suggest is using a cleansing conditioner like Hair One or Wen. Wen is more on the pricey side, ill put a link at the bottom if you want to check it out. Hair One is more like a cheaper version of Wen (Ill put a link for that as well). The both do the same thing, the difference is that Wen is for all hair types while Hair One has different types for diffident hair.

Hair Care 101

I used to not care about my hair's health until i noticed how bad it got. My hair was fried from all the the heat i used, it felt like straw because of the kind of shampoo i used and the ends were disgusting. Its amazing how it took me so long to notice how bad my hair was. Why didn't i see this before? From that, I made it my priority to get my hair back to its healthy state. I researched a lot about hair and hair care and everything of that nature and I cant wait to share my knowledge with you. In the next posts, Ill be talking about everything you want to know about hair.

Beauty

What is beauty? Beauty means something different to every person. Some people think beauty means looking pretty, flawless.... perfect. To me, beauty means being comfortable in your own skin, being happy with the person you are. Being beautiful means much more than looking pretty. The truth is, there is no such thing as perfect. Perfect is just an idea. Nobody is perfect, our individuality is what makes us beautiful. Imagine living a world where everything was "perfect" and everyone looked the same. How boring, right? Beauty is a very touchy subject just because of all the different opinions and feeling involved with it. Being beautiful has nothing to do with what other people think of you or what people what you to be. Beauty has to do with what you think of yourself. Are you proud of the person you are? Are you proud of you're actions? How about the way you portray yourself? You can be the prettiest person in the world but still be ugly inside or give yourself a nasty reputation. Life is only what you make it. You choose how you want to live your life. :)
What does beauty mean to you?
